My strategy

When we decide to work together I will go with you through the following 10 steps:

  1. Understand the problem: I begin by gaining a deep understanding of the problem at hand. Engage with key stakeholders, gather relevant information, and analyze the situation from multiple perspectives.
  2. Define the problem clearly: I formulate a clear problem statement that captures the essence of the issue. Meanwhile I also ensure that the problem statement is specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART).
  3. Conduct thorough research: I gather data, conduct research, and explore existing knowledge related to the problem. This will help you gain insights, identify patterns, and uncover potential solutions.
  4. Analyze the root causes: I dig deeper to identify the underlying causes of the problem. Use tools such as root cause analysis, fish-bone diagrams, or process mapping to understand the interconnected factors contributing to the issue.
  5. Generate alternative solutions: I engage myself with all stakeholders to generate a wide range of potential solutions. To that I can embrace diverse perspectives and encourage creativity. Evaluate each solution based on feasibility, impact, and alignment with organizational goals.
  6. Evaluate and prioritize solutions: We assess the feasibility and potential impact of each solution. Consider factors such as cost, resources required, risks involved, and timeframes. Prioritize the solutions based on their potential for success and alignment with the organization’s priorities.
  7. Develop an action plan: Once the solutions are selected, I create a detailed action plan outlining the steps, responsibilities, and timelines for implementation. Break down the plan into smaller manageable tasks to ensure progress and accountability.
  8. Implement and monitor progress: I execute the action plan, closely monitoring the progress and making necessary adjustments along the way. Regularly communicate with stakeholders and provide updates on the progress made.
  9. Evaluate and learn: After implementation, evaluate the effectiveness of the solutions. I collect feedback, measure outcomes, and identify lessons learned. This evaluation will help refine the approach and improve future problem-solving efforts.
  10. Continuous improvement: I always encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. Learn from each problem-solving experience and apply those insights to enhance future problem-solving processes.

Addressing problems and finding solutions can often lead to disagreements and delays in decision-making. Instead, imagine if a comprehensive analysis exposed the root causes of the problem and considered the interests of all stakeholders involved. By defining the problem and acknowledging the dilemmas, acceptance of a solution can be improved, even if it’s not everyone’s preferred choice.

Without a clear dilemma, there is no problem to solve. The challenge lies in finding alternatives that everyone can support. For example, reducing noise nuisance from airplanes while maintaining affordable and convenient travel options. It’s about striking a balance that satisfies various needs.

In complex scenarios like ensuring a stable electricity supply while reducing CO2 emissions, traditional solutions may not suffice. As an analyst, I identify tensions, formulate clear problem statements, and propose appropriate alternatives to address evolving challenges.

Let me help you navigate through the complexities and find effective solutions.
