The new Government housing

The tangle

Súdwest-Fryslân had bought a building across the street from the town hall, and mainly civil servants and employees who deal with customer contact would work there: the customer care, the print room with, among other things, large plotters, the team for email handling, civil affairs…

The disentangler

I was asked to think along about how to make this moving process run smoothly. On the one hand, everything had to be redesigned, and on the other hand, everything could and had to be moved with it. Someone had to find out whether there were also certain requirements and wishes for the new workplaces.

The disentangling

I checked per department what needs to be moved, how many desks per department and what the new workplaces should look like, how many sockets are needed. what is expected in terms of noise reduction, wishes regarding light, carpeting in the call center area, plants, color palette… This was incorporated into a presentation where everyone could have their say again, after which things could still be adjusted. This resulted in a handbook with everything that had to be placed or adapted in the new building.

The disentangled result

This manual has been incorporated into the bid book for the tender. The building has since been renovated and people are working here already.
